I found it!

Hello friends!

I hope you’re doing well today. For some reason, I’m in a very good mood, against all odds (such as the work I have to do). I actually have been doing quite well (mentally and emotionally lol) so I’m more than excited. 😀 😀 😀

I haven’t been faithful in my  bible reading. I currently am about three days behind. Shame. But last night, as I stayed up late (yet again) to work on a paper, I played a sermon in the background because I was getting very tired and frustrated. I listened to my grandfather (aka Pastor Adeboye. Oh you’ve not heard? I’m a pentecostal catholic). 😀

Tired as I was, I went to bed invigorated and excited about God. That’s the best place to be because with God, you’re pretty much set for life and even death.

This afternoon at lunch, as I sat alone eating in the busy dining hall, I whipped my phone out of my bag and opened my bible app. To my pleasant surprise, I found a scripture that I’ve known for a long time but never actually read in my bible! I was so excited I probably shrieked!

It’s Psalm 81:10

“I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.”

I wrote about that scripture sometime ago, as I have heard it several times, but I was just so excited to have stumbled upon it in my bible.

There are no regrets when you live your life for God. We can never comprehend His might, neither can we understand His love towards us. God is full of surprises. Just when you’re brimming with joy over receiving a new level of grace and anointing, He surprises you with yet another revelation.

When you feel like you’ve discovered a juicy secret, or that your intimacy level with Him is at its maximum, He takes you one step deeper and it’s almost as though you’re reborn.

This God that we serve is too good. I love Him so much, I have butterflies in my tummy and I’m beginning to sweat just typing this.

I also read Proverbs 12:28, and for perspective, here are a few different translations.  

In the way of righteousness there is life; along that path is immortality. (NIV)

The way of the godly leads to life; that path does not lead to death. (NLT)

In the path of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death. (ESV)

Basically, you can never ever go wrong while serving God. He hides you under the shadow of His wings, and imagine how wide those wings are. He created the heavens and the earth so imagine how much covering you have if He were to physically hide you under His wings.

Now imagine how safe you are spiritually, knowing that you are nestled under His wings. Although your adversaries come at you from different directions, they cannot get to you. We wrestle against principalities and powers, but the Lord has won the victory. Talk about amazing!

I wonder why I don’t ask God for bigger things seeing as He has given me a blank check. Open your mouth wide and I will fill it. I am in awe of that statement. How wide do you open your mouth? How much do we ask for? Most of us erroneously ask God for material things, forgetting that there are certain things we ask for that guarantee other things.

Matthew 6:33 says “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Ask the Lord for deeper revelation. Ask for a more intimate relationship with Him. Ask that you will perform the miracles, signs and wonders that He worked by the hands of the apostles. Ask Him to deliver nations. Ask Him for revival. Ask Him for big things. Big Big things, and watch Him thwart all your expectations!

What would you ask for if God promised to give it to you with no reservations? The only caveat is that it has to be done out of pure love because of course, God is love. I’m not asking for your comments today, I’m asking that you open your mouth and ask if for those things!
