Childhood and Growing up

1. Do you remember your first day in school ever?

I don’t remember the very first day, I only remember the first week, or so. All I remember was that there was a lot of crying haha. We lived right across from the school and it was my mummy who dropped me. I also started school a little late, because I remember thinking all my friends already knew each other, and had made friends before I came. I think she also came to take me to eat during lunch, lol. Anyway, there was this set of twins in my class, Tolu and Tope, who came and told me to stop crying. They rocked my head back and forth and I was a little surprised and I thought to myself, “hmmn, maybe this is what school is about. This is how friends commiserate with each other in school.” Sadly, I’ve lost touch with them, and haven’t heard about them for the last ten/ twelve yearsFalling kid

2. Most embarrassing thing about your childhood?

I don’t know. Actually, I don’t. I know there were kids in my class who’d pee on themselves when they were nervous, but for me I guess it just was that I was such a noise maker.

3. How is your family structured?

Lol, I don’t know what I was thinking when I wrote this question, but I suppose the meaning is that I have mother, father, brothers and sisters. Finish.

4. Is there something you’d change about your childhood?

Probably have less people, re. Aunties and uncles living in our house. I don’t know why Africans/ Nigerians do this. Please, for me, I’ll only have my husband and children living in the house. No aunty/ uncle and no family drama. No, thank you. If you want help, we will do long distance help i.e. money transfer.

5. How do you feel about your relationship with your mother?

I’m very close to both my parents. They probably are the biggest influence I’ve had in my life. Read my father’s day post here. My daddy just informed me that he’s printed the post out. The man is a case!!! 😀 😀 😀

1. Where would you like to be in three years’ time?

I don’t know. I can’t think today for some reason. In three years, I’ll be 24, so maybe starting off a great career? Or you know, my blog exploding and actually putting money in my bank account, and having a fantastic career? But I don’t know. Honestly, wherever I am, I only want to be nestled in the arms of Jesus!

happy kid

2. What are some of your short and long term plans?

Grow this blog. Grow this blog. Grow this blog. Finish school with really good grades, be a good woman of God.

3. What is your secret power?

My secret power is the fact that I talk to myself, so I can have a three way conversation with just me. Probably freaks my roommates out but I learnt the habit from my parents.

4. What’s one thing about yourself that you wish you could change?

I don’t know. I probably right now wish that I would drop a few pands. And that I would LOOOOVEEEE exercise. Unfortunately, I’d rather sleep and watch a movie than go running. I need a friend/ exercise partner to help me love sweating profusely. ;(

5. What would you like on your epitaph?

I don’t know. Here lies the greatest lover of God that ever lived. That would be a lie though.Girl

laughing kids

1. One gift you’re praying for?

The gift of prophecy.

2. One trial you’ve recently overcome?

Fear. I’ll write about it soon.

3. One struggle you’re facing?

Fear. I’ll write about it soon. 🙂

4. One spiritual mystery that’s recently been revealed to you?

Lol, if you read my post here, you’d know that it’s nothing. Lmao. But I’ll keep y’all updated when the needful occurs.

5. Who in the bible do you most admire for their faith?

I think Esther. And Isaiah. And Elijah and Elisha. I really like old testament people tbh. I’m obsessed with the old testament books, so I know so much more about the old testament books than the new testament books- even though I probably have read almost every book in the new testament.

Why though?

I also like people who know and like the old testament. For some reason, I tend to equate having that knowledge with being a hard core bible person. Like anyone could read the new testaments (and when I say new testaments, I really mean the epistles) The gospels are the gospels. But not anyone can sit and read the old testaments, so it’s a special power. Lol. This probably is my way of consoling myself for my old fashioned tendencies.

That’s it for today friends! Have a fantastic weekend! As y’all know, I’m going on honeymoon so I’m in for a treat!

  1. Egor F Egbe says

Some say that the Old testament religion is different from that of the new testament. Look at the laws of Moses and ‘corrections’ or ‘updates’ by Jesus in the new testament. Well, many of the issues in the Old Testament are regarded as ‘In the days of Old’. Maybe you will see this viewpoint later. I always think of the way and manner the apostles of Jesus were called and how they so ‘easily’ decided to ‘abandon whatever they were doing…. and followed….

    • I definitely I too, would abandon and follow. Even apart from leaving our profession or career like the apostles do, the Lord still calls us to leave all our worldly desires, abandon them for Him, and follow Him wholeheartedly.
