He will Be your Sun

“I saw no temple in the city

for its temple is the Lord God almighty and the Lamb.

The city had no need of sun or moon to shine on it,

for the glory of God gave it light,

and its lamp was the Lamb.”

Revelation 21:22-23

That was part of the reading from mass on Sunday, and I cannot tell you how excited that little passage made me. There is a city in the future of every single child of God, where the Lord Himself will be your light. There will come a time when all things that bother you and stress you out, will cease to exist. When that time comes, you will not be controlled by the forces of nature, by seasons, by economic situations, by political strife, or by family and relationship trouble.

There are people like you and I who want for nothing in this life. They live in such intimacy with God that nothing fazes them. They live in this world, but they are not of this world. The Lord God Himself is their provider and sustenance. While the rest of us worry about where our fees will come from, or how to attain academic success, or how to get great relationships, they don’t even bother, because they are such good friends of God, they know His secrets, and they rest assured in His promises.

When we get to heaven, we will not want for anything. Heaven is the epitome of everything good, everything beautiful, and everything pleasant. Heaven is everything God. And the beauty is that the more we want God, the more we experience heaven.

What’s even more exciting for me is the fact that we can live in our New Jerusalem today. When we’re committed to God, He is our light and our salvation. The sun shall not harm us by day, nor the moon by night. When we trust God, everything He created will conspire to help us succeed.

Have you heard about the time when the Lord made the sun stand still? What about the time when He rained down quail for the children of Israel because they wanted some protein? Have you heard about that time when He parted the red sea? What about the time when Philip the disciple ran faster than a chariot? Have you heard about the time when He gave Samson the power to fight and kill one thousand men with the jawbone of an ass? And the other time when He gave David the wisdom to kill Goliath?

If you have not heard, today is the appointed day, now is the time. Cast your worried on to Jesus, for He cares for you. Accept Him into your heart and He will show you things that you never even imagined possible.

What’s bothering you? What are you worried about? No matter how big or how small it is, take it to the feet of Jesus and leave it there.

It’s a short post today because I’m trying to beat a deadline, but because I love to blog so much, I’m procrastinating by posting this! Please, am I not cute? ❤

As always, please leave your comments and thoughts below!
